Synchronising over FTP with Perl

I stumbled across this article today on synchronising local and remote copies of web-site with Perl. This is more a reminder for me than anything else, but others might be interested in the implementation too.

On that note, does anyone use a blog to keep notes for themselves? I suppose that would be like a private and a public view of the blog. The private view would show those articles that aren't ready for publishing, and allow editing of all content.

Yes, my blog still doesn't have edit functionality. Today I needed to download the text database containing all my articles to post a URL correction. However, in the process I discovered a great free FTP program: FileZilla.
